I was working as an Interior Designer outside of Philadelphia when I needed to commission a piece of artwork for a client. I knew I could find no better than the pieces I had seen Laura Murphy post on her website. I reached out to her, and although we grew up together and hadn’t been close, years later we began to bond over our mutual love of good design. A year later, my Jersey boy husband and I packed up our house and moved our family back to Grand Island, NY to raise our son around family. As soon as we arrived, once again, I contacted my new friend, Laura. Over many coffee dates, we decided it was time to “pear” up.
Before coming to Pear Design Studio, I spent seven years in New York City designing home textile products for department and specialty stores. My favorite lines were ones I developed for well-known interior designers such as Jonathan Adler and Nate Berkus. Through creating those products, I gained an immense appreciation for the work interior designers do. Having only a Bachelors degree in Business, I became inspired to hit the books and earn my own Interior Design degree. I graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2012 and immediately began working in the wonderful world of residential interiors.
I’m thrilled to be back in Western New York and to be working for a fresh and innovative company like Pear Design Studio. Stay tuned…we are going to be creating some amazing spaces!
